    Scope

ERA's central portal for the European Rail Traffic Management System, the harmonised European train control and communication system combining ETCS with Railway Mobile Radio (GSM-R and its FRMCS successor). It is the entry point to the ERTMS specification documents, change control and deployment information that ERA maintains in its role as ERTMS system authority, used by IMs, RUs, suppliers and national authorities.

ERA's ERTMS portal is the Agency's central web presence for the European Rail Traffic Management System, the harmonised European train control and communication system that combines the European Train Control System (ETCS) with Railway Mobile Radio -- currently GSM-R, migrating over time to the FRMCS successor system. It serves as the entry point to the ERTMS specification documents, the change control process through which the specifications are maintained and updated, and information on ERTMS deployment progress across the European network, consolidating material that would otherwise be scattered across multiple ERA pages and documents. The European Union Agency for Railways acts as the ERTMS system authority, meaning it owns and maintains the ERTMS specification baseline referenced by the CCS TSI, and this portal is where the Agency publishes system authority outputs and deployment information. Infrastructure managers, railway undertakings, ERTMS equipment suppliers and national authorities use it to access the specifications, track baseline changes, and follow deployment status relevant to their ERTMS projects. It links through to the detailed SUBSET specifications, the EIRENE and FRMCS radio specifications, and ERA's CCS TSI application guide.
