RINF — Register of Infrastructure (online application)
Issuing body: European Union Agency for Railways (ERA) · Version: Online register (continuously updated)
Link verified July 21, 2026
Scope
ERA's online Register of Infrastructure application, publishing the network and line data reported by Member States' infrastructure managers under Implementing Regulation (EU) 2019/777. Railway undertakings and authorisation applicants use it to check route characteristics (gauging, axle load, electrification, CCS) and to perform vehicle-route compatibility checks required by TSI OPE.
RINF, the Register of Infrastructure, is ERA's online application publishing the network and line characteristic data that Member States' infrastructure managers are required to report under Implementing Regulation (EU) 2019/777, giving a single, EU-wide searchable source of infrastructure parameters. Published data includes each line section's structure gauge, permissible axle load and speed, electrification characteristics, and control-command and signalling equipment in place, reported by the infrastructure manager responsible for each section of network. Railway undertakings and vehicle authorisation applicants use RINF to check route characteristics before operating a service or seeking to extend a vehicle's area of use, performing the route-compatibility checks that the TSI Operation and Traffic Management requires them to carry out. It replaced the previously fragmented national approaches to publishing infrastructure register data with a single harmonised application and data model. It is operated by the European Union Agency for Railways and updated continuously as infrastructure managers report changes to their networks.
