Udhampur-Srinagar-Baramulla Rail Link (USBRL)

Project overview

This 272 km conventional rail line entered service in India. The line uses 25 kV AC 50 Hz electrification, national ATC signalling and 1676 mm Iberian broad gauge. Northern Railway and Konkan Railway Corporation Limited (KRCL) are delivering the project, with IRCON, Afcons and HCC as main contractors. It opened in 2025, with an investment of INR 350.0 bn (~USD 4.2 bn).
