Project overview
This 28.62 km monorail line entered service in Thailand. It comprises 23 stations and 80 km/h design speed. The line uses 750 V DC third rail electrification and CBTC signalling. Mass Rapid Transit Authority of Thailand (MRTA) is delivering the project, with Eastern Bangkok Monorail (BSR consortium: BTSC + Sino-Thai + RATCH) and Alstom (Innovia 300) as main contractors. It opened in 2023, with an investment of USD 1.5 bn.
