    Project overview

    This 23 km metro line is under construction in Australia. It comprises 6 stations, 9.8 km of tunnels and 100 km/h design speed. The line uses 1.5 kV DC overhead electrification, CBTC signalling and 1435 mm standard gauge. Sydney Metro (Transport for NSW) is delivering the project, with CPB Contractors-Ghella-UGL JV (SSTOM tunnels), Bouygues-Acciona JV (stations enabling) and Parklife Metro consortium (Webuild, Siemens Mobility, RATP Dev, Plenary Group) — SSTOM PPP as main contractors. Under construction since 2020, the line is scheduled to open in 2027, with an investment of AUD 12.0 bn (~USD 8.0 bn).
