Gold Coast Light Rail Stage 3 (Broadbeach South – Burleigh Heads)

Project overview

This 6.7 km light rail line is under construction in Australia. It comprises 8 stations. The line uses 750 V DC overhead electrification and 1435 mm standard gauge. Queensland Government Department of Transport and Main Roads and GoldlinQ are delivering the project, with John Holland as main contractor. Under construction since 2023, the line is scheduled to open in 2026, with an investment of AUD 1.2 bn (~USD 805 m).
