Project overview
This 1100 km high-speed line has been approved in Kazakhstan. It comprises 350 km/h design speed. The line uses 25 kV AC 50 Hz electrification and 1520 mm Russian gauge. Kazakhstan Temir Zholy (KTZ) and Government of Kazakhstan are delivering the project, with China Railway Construction Corporation (CRCC) as main contractor. Target opening is 2035, with an investment of USD 5.0 bn.
