Project overview
This 13.4 km metro line is under construction in Kazakhstan. It comprises 11 stations and 90 km/h design speed. The line uses 750 V DC third rail electrification and 1520 mm Russian gauge. Almaty Metro (Алматы Метросы) and Akimat of Almaty are delivering the project. Under construction since 1988, the line is scheduled to open in 2011, with an investment of USD 800 m.
