    Scope

    Specifies the functionality, construction, interfaces and testing of draw gear and screw couplings fitted to the ends of freight wagons, locomotives and passenger vehicles, across three force-rated categories (1 MN, 1.2 MN and 1.5 MN). Read together with EN 15551, it completes the specification of conventional screw-coupling equipment; permanently coupled vehicle units fall outside its scope.
