Scope

Specifies the geometry, energy-absorption performance, interfaces and test procedures for railway buffers with 105 mm, 110 mm and 150 mm stroke, fitted to freight wagons, coaches and locomotives using screw couplings. It includes provisions for crashworthy buffers on dangerous-goods tank wagons and is the CEN reference used wherever conventional buffer-and-chain coupling equipment is specified or tested.
