CP/Alstom Adessia Stream EMU fleet renewal: base contract for 117 trains (EUR746M, signed 2023/Oct-2025) expanded in March 2026 with 36 additional units, bringing the total to 153 trains (98 for suburban services in Lisbon, Porto and Cascais + 55 for regional lines) at a combined contract value of approximately EUR1.03bn. New Alstom manufacturing facility being built in Matosinhos (Porto region). First trains enter service 2029; final delivery brought forward from 2033 to 2031. NOTE: this is distinct from a separate, unrelated CP tender for 12 high-speed trainsets (~EUR584M) for the future Lisbon-Porto high-speed corridor, which the previous "12 HS + 55 IC" description text incorrectly conflated with this order.
