Project overview
This 1733 km rail upgrade has been approved in Pakistan. It comprises 160 km/h design speed. The line uses diesel traction and 1676 mm Iberian broad gauge. Pakistan Railways and CPEC Authority are delivering the project, with China Railway Construction Corporation (CRCC) as main contractor. Target opening is 2030, with an investment of USD 6.7 bn.
