Project overview

Kathmandu Valley electric rail (metro/monorail mode still undetermined) - proposed first route is a 27.5 km loop (Narayan Gopal Chowk - Chabahil - Koteshwar - Satdobato - Ratnapark). As of May 2026 Nepal is only tendering for a consultant to prepare the DPR; the 77km figure previously used here belongs to a broader 5-line valley-wide vision, not this concrete Phase 1 route.
