Project overview
This 665 km rail upgrade is under construction in Malaysia. It comprises 20 stations and 160 km/h design speed. The line uses 25 kV AC 50 Hz electrification and 1435 mm standard gauge. Malaysia Rail Link (MRL) — MoF Inc subsidiary is delivering the project, with China Communications Construction Company (CCCC) as main contractor. Under construction since 2017, the line is scheduled to open in 2027, with an investment of MYR 50.0 bn (~USD 11.8 bn).
