Project overview
This 523 km rail upgrade is under construction in Kyrgyzstan. The line uses 25 kV AC 50 Hz electrification and 1435 mm standard gauge. Government of Kyrgyzstan and Kyrgyz Temir Joly (KTJ); JV with China Railway and UTY are delivering the project, with China Railway Construction Corporation (CRCC) and China Railway Group (CREC) as main contractors. Under construction since 2024, the line is scheduled to open in 2030, with an investment of USD 4.7 bn.
