Verona–Fortezza Brenner Access Lines

Project overview

This €7.2 billion project quadruples the rail access from Verona to the Brenner Base Tunnel, spanning approximately 180 km of improved infrastructure. RFI is overseeing the construction of priority lots, including the Fortezza-Ponte Gardena section, which features extensive tunneling to reduce steep gradients. The upgrades will allow for longer, heavier freight trains and reduce the Innsbruck-Bolzano journey by 50 minutes.
