    Italy · Europe · Metro

    Operational VerifiedCapex: €3.70B

    Project overview

Spanning 25.5 km from the eastern suburbs to the historic center, Line C is the first fully automated driverless metro in Rome. Roma Metropolitane completed the T3 section in December 2025 — a 3.2 km, two-station extension to Porta Metronia and Colosseo/Fori Imperiali, whose deep archaeological stations double as underground museums. The €3.7 billion fundamental track serves 30 stations and utilizes platform screen doors for enhanced passenger safety.
