Galleria Santomarco (Cosenza–Paola)

Project overview

Featuring a new 15.4 km double-track tunnel, this €1.6 billion project replaces the existing single-track link between Cosenza and the Tyrrhenian coast. RFI awarded the contract to a Webuild-led consortium to overcome complex geological conditions and provide a high-speed connection for the University of Calabria. The project includes 22 km of total new alignment and the construction of a new station at Montalto Uffugo.
