Florence High-Speed Bypass (Passante AV Firenze)

Project overview

This €2.7 billion urban bypass includes a 7 km underground tunnel system and the new high-speed Belfiore station in Florence. RFI is managing the project to separate high-speed flows from regional and freight traffic, freeing up significant capacity at the central station. Construction is currently underway using specialized tunnel boring machines, with a scheduled completion date of 2028.
