Bologna Tram Network (Red + Green Lines)

Project overview

Marking the return of trams to the city, the 16.5 km Red Line will connect Borgo Panigale to the agricultural faculty and fairgrounds. The City of Bologna is investing €511 million in the project, which utilizes battery-powered traction in the historic center to preserve the urban landscape. Scheduled for a 2026 completion, the line features 30 stations and targets 110,000 daily passengers.
