Chuo Shinkansen Maglev (Tokyo–Nagoya–Osaka)

Project overview

This 286 km maglev line is under construction in Japan. It comprises 505 km/h design speed. The line uses national ATC signalling and 1435 mm standard gauge. Central Japan Railway Company (JR Central) is delivering the project, with Kajima Corporation, Shimizu Corporation and Obayashi Corporation as main contractors. Under construction since 2014, the line is scheduled to open in 2034, with an investment of JPY 64.0 bn (~USD 65.0 bn).
