CPTM Lines 8-Diamond and 9-Emerald Modernization (São Paulo)

Project overview

This 68 km commuter rail line is under construction in Brazil. The line uses 3 kV DC overhead electrification, ERTMS Level 2 signalling and 1600 mm broad gauge. ViaMobilidade (SP State PPP) is delivering the project, with Alstom (ETCS L2) and ViaMobilidade as main contractors. Under construction since 2022, the line is scheduled to open in 2028, with an investment of BRL 2.6 bn (~USD 510 m).
