Dhaka Metro MRT Line 5 Northern Route

Project overview

This 20 km metro line is under construction in Bangladesh. It comprises 14 stations. The line uses 1.5 kV DC overhead electrification, CBTC signalling and 1435 mm standard gauge. Dhaka Mass Transit Company Limited (DMTCL) is delivering the project, with Marubeni and Tokyu Construction as main contractors. Under construction since 2023, the line is scheduled to open in 2028, with an investment of USD 3.9 bn.
