Project overview
This 21.26 km metro line entered service in Bangladesh. It comprises 17 stations. The line uses 1.5 kV DC overhead electrification, CBTC signalling and 1435 mm standard gauge. Dhaka Mass Transit Company Limited (DMTCL) is delivering the project, with Itochu, Marubeni and Sumitomo as main contractors. It opened in 2022, with an investment of USD 2.8 bn.
