Project overview
This 34.5 km monorail line entered service in Thailand. It comprises 30 stations and 80 km/h design speed. The line uses 750 V DC third rail electrification and CBTC signalling. Mass Rapid Transit Authority of Thailand (MRTA) is delivering the project, with Northern Bangkok Monorail (BSR consortium: BTSC + Sino-Thai + RATCH) and Alstom (Innovia 300) as main contractors. It opened in 2024.
