Scope

The JIS division index listing Class E -- Railway -- within Japan's national industrial standards system (JIS), covering general railway matters, track, overhead line equipment, signalling and safety equipment, and rolling stock (general, power vehicles, passenger/freight cars, industrial and cable-railway vehicles). It is the entry point for sourcing Japanese national railway technical standards where European practice does not apply; individual JIS documents are sold as PDFs through JSA's Webdesk store.
