Scope
Specifies rules and limits for track alignment design parameters - curve radii, cant, cant deficiency, transition lengths and their rates of change - including alignments within switches and crossings, for nominal track gauges of 1 435 mm and wider at speeds up to 360 km/h, including vehicles approved for higher cant deficiency such as tilting trains. It is the core geometric design reference used by infrastructure managers and track designers for plain line and switch/crossing layout; this 2017 consolidated edition superseded the earlier split Parts 1 and 2.
