Scope
Sets the general requirements, technical criteria and control procedures for concrete sleepers and bearers used in ballasted track, including twin-block reinforced sleepers, switch/crossing bearers and special track elements. Defines the mechanical (repetitive-load, fatigue) and durability (chemical, frost) tests that manufacturers and infrastructure managers use for product qualification and acceptance; companion parts of the series cover mono-block sleepers, prestressed switch/crossing bearers and structural design.
