The line uses dual-system electrification, ERTMS Level 2 signalling and 1435 mm standard gauge. SEDENA and Fonatur are delivering the project, with Mota-Engil México, CCCC and CICSA as main contractors. It opened in 2024, with an investment of MXN 500.0 bn (~USD 27.8 bn).
Construction began in 2020 and the project opened in 2024.
