UIC Loading Guidelines - Code of Practice for Loading and Securing Goods on Wagons

Scope

The UIC Loading Guidelines set out the state-of-the-art code of practice for loading and securing goods on wagons: Volume 1 contains the mandatory general principles, and Volume 2 sets out methods for specific goods types. Since 2022 the Guidelines have been formally recognised by the European Union Agency for Railways as an Alternative Means of Compliance (AMOC), giving them quasi-regulatory weight for freight loading officers, wagon keepers and railway undertakings across Europe.
