General requirements for the competence of testing and calibration laboratories

Scope

Specifies the general requirements for the competence, impartiality and consistent operation of testing and calibration laboratories, covering management-system, resource, process and reporting requirements regardless of the sector tested. It is the universal accreditation baseline that any rail test laboratory - for vehicle type testing, in-service testing or ETCS conformance testing - must hold for its results to be accepted by notified, designated and assessment bodies across the rail interoperability framework.
