    Project overview

    This 182 km rail upgrade entered service in Serbia. It comprises 200 km/h design speed. The line uses 25 kV AC 50 Hz electrification, ERTMS Level 2 signalling and 1435 mm standard gauge. Infrastruktura Železnice Srbije (IŽS) is delivering the project, with China Railway International Co. Ltd and China Communications Construction Company (CCCC) as main contractors. It opened in 2025, with an investment of EUR 938 m (~USD 1.1 bn).
