Mumbai Metro Line 5 (Orange Line) Thane-Bhiwandi-Kalyan

Project overview

This 24.9 km metro line is under construction in India. It comprises 17 stations. The line uses 25 kV AC 50 Hz electrification, CBTC signalling and 1435 mm standard gauge. Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) is delivering the project, with J.Kumar and NCC as main contractors. Under construction since 2019, the line is scheduled to open in 2026, with an investment of INR 80.9 bn (~USD 970 m).
