Kolkata Metro Yellow Line (Noapara-Barasat) & Joka-Esplanade

Project overview

This 32.5 km metro line is under construction in India. The line uses 750 V DC third rail electrification, CBTC signalling and 1435 mm standard gauge. Kolkata Metro Rail Corporation (KMRC) and RVNL are delivering the project, with IRCON, Afcons and ITD Cementation as main contractors. Under construction since 2010, the line is scheduled to open in 2027, with an investment of INR 71.0 bn (~USD 855 m).
