This new station forms part of the Sunshine Superhub (Melbourne) programme in Australia. The line uses dual-gauge track. Rail Projects Victoria and Department of Transport and Planning are delivering the project, with McConnell Dowell-Arup-Metro Trains-V/Line-VIDA Rail (Enabling Works alliance — utility relocation, jet fuel pipeline) and Sunshine Superhub Program Alliance (procurement 2026; CPB Contractors-SMEC-FCC Construction-Martinus Rail-Arcadis shortlisted) as main contractors. Target opening is 2030, with an investment of AUD 4.1 bn (~USD 2.7 bn).

Construction began in 2026, with completion expected in 2030.
