Rio Tinto is delivering the project, with Hitachi Rail (formerly Ansaldo STS — AutoHaul technology integrator) as main contractor. It opened in 2019, with an investment of AUD 1.4 bn (~USD 940 m).

Construction began in 2012 and the project opened in 2019.
