This AUD 2.8 bn (~USD 1.9 bn) contract supplies new rolling stock for the NSW Regional Rail Fleet (NRRF — CAF Civity) programme in Australia. The fleet operates on 1435 mm standard gauge. Transport for NSW (NSW TrainLink) is delivering the project, with CAF (Construcciones y Auxiliar de Ferrocarriles), UGL Rail (maintenance — Mindyarra, Dubbo) and Momentum Trains (consortium SPV — dissolved 2025) as main contractors. Investment is AUD 2.8 bn (~USD 1.9 bn).
Construction began in 2019, with completion expected in 2026.
