Newcastle Light Rail (Wickham–Pacific Park)

Project overview

This 2.7 km light rail line entered service in Australia. It comprises 6 stations. The line uses 750 V DC overhead electrification and 1435 mm standard gauge. Transport for NSW is delivering the project, with Downer EDI Engineering Power, Keolis Downer (operator) and CAF (rolling stock — 6 Urbos 100) as main contractors. It opened in 2019, with an investment of AUD 650 m (~USD 463 m).
