Project overview

This 8 km commuter rail line entered service in Australia. It comprises 5 stations. The line uses 25 kV AC 50 Hz electrification and 1067 mm Cape gauge. Public Transport Authority of Western Australia (PTA) is delivering the project, with Armadale Line Upgrade Alliance (Acciona + BMD Constructions + WSP + AECOM) as main contractor. It opened in 2025, with an investment of AUD 1.3 bn (~USD 860 m).
