    Project overview

    This 17.5 km commuter rail line entered service in Australia. It comprises 2 stations. The line uses 25 kV AC 50 Hz electrification and 1067 mm Cape gauge. Public Transport Authority of Western Australia (PTA) is delivering the project, with NEWest Alliance (Laing O'Rourke + Italian-Thai Development), CPB Contractors and Downer EDI as main contractors. It opened in 2025, with an investment of AUD 1.4 bn (~USD 890 m).
