Project overview

This 21 km commuter rail line entered service in Australia. It comprises 5 stations. The line uses 25 kV AC 50 Hz electrification and 1067 mm Cape gauge. Public Transport Authority of Western Australia (PTA) is delivering the project, with MELconnx Alliance (Laing O'Rourke + AECOM + WSP) as main contractor. It opened in 2024, with an investment of AUD 1.6 bn (~USD 1.1 bn).
