METRONET Forrestfield-Airport Link (Perth Airport Line)

Project overview

This 8.5 km commuter rail line entered service in Australia. It comprises 3 stations and 8 km of tunnels. The line uses 25 kV AC 50 Hz electrification and 1067 mm Cape gauge. Public Transport Authority of Western Australia (PTA) is delivering the project, with Salini Impregilo (Webuild) and NRW Holdings as main contractors. It opened in 2022, with an investment of AUD 1.9 bn (~USD 1.2 bn).
