The line uses 25 kV AC 50 Hz electrification, ERTMS Level 2 signalling and 1067 mm Cape gauge. Queensland Department of Transport and Main Roads are delivering the project. Target opening is 2032, with an investment of AUD 5.5 bn (~USD 3.6 bn).

Completion is expected in 2032.
