This 12 km light rail line entered service in Australia. It comprises 14 stations. The line uses 750 V DC overhead electrification and 1435 mm standard gauge. Major Projects Canberra (ACT Government) is delivering the project, with Canberra Metro consortium (CIMIC: CPB Contractors, John Holland, Pacific Partnerships, UGL, Aberdeen Infrastructure Investments, Mitsubishi) and CAF (14 Urbos 3 trams) as main contractors. It opened in 2019, with an investment of AUD 707 m (~USD 504 m).
Construction began in 2016 and the project opened in 2019.
The project has an estimated investment of A$707M.
