Beerburrum to Nambour Rail Upgrade Stage 1 (B2N)

Project overview

This 12 km rail upgrade is under construction in Australia. The line uses 25 kV AC 50 Hz electrification and 1067 mm Cape gauge. Queensland Department of Transport and Main Roads are delivering the project, with John Holland - Seymour Whyte JV as main contractor. Under construction since 2025, the line is scheduled to open in 2027, with an investment of AUD 770 m (~USD 508 m).
