Cairo Monorail — East Nile Line (New Administrative Capital) is a monorail project in Egypt, currently operational.
This 56.5 km monorail line entered service in Egypt. It comprises 22 stations and 80 km/h design speed. The line uses 1500 V DC third rail electrification and 1435 mm standard gauge. National Authority for Tunnels (NAT) is delivering the project, with Alstom, Orascom Construction and Arab Contractors as main contractors. It opened in 2026, with an investment of EUR 2.7 bn (~USD 2.9 bn).
Construction began in 2019 and the project opened in 2026.
