This 31.6 km light rail line entered service in Ethiopia. It comprises 39 stations and 70 km/h design speed. The line uses 750 V DC overhead electrification, national ATC signalling and 1435 mm standard gauge. Ethiopian Railways Corporation is delivering the project, with China Railway Engineering Corporation as main contractor. It opened in 2015, with an investment of USD 475 m.
Construction began in 2011 and the project opened in 2015.
The project has an estimated investment of $475M.
