Softronic, founded in 1999 by Romanian engineer Călin Mititelu and headquartered in Craiova, is a privately held Romanian rolling-stock manufacturer producing electric locomotives, EMUs, and railway safety systems. With around 506 employees and RON 231 million (~USD 50M) in FY2022 revenue, it is the only manufacturer in Southeastern Europe of multi-unit electric trains and asynchronous-motor electric locomotives (Transmontana).
