Rete Ferroviaria Italiana (RFI), founded in 2001 and headquartered in Rome, is the infrastructure manager of the Italian national rail network. A subsidiary of Ferrovie dello Stato Italiane, RFI maintains and develops the rail network, manages signalling and traction systems, and operates over 2,000 passenger stations across Italy.
