Metro Warszawskie, founded in 1995 and reorganised as a limited-liability company in 2003 and headquartered in Warsaw, is the wholly City-of-Warsaw-owned operator of the Warsaw Metro M1 and M2 lines. With around 2,600 employees, it also acts as the substitute investor for ongoing extensions of M2 and the planned M3 line on behalf of the municipal government.
